Most marketing underperforms for an unglamorous reason: nobody agreed what it was for. A strategy settles that question first — who you are talking to, what they already believe, which channels can realistically reach them, and what has to change for the spend to have been worth it.
When a strategy is worth doing first
- You are entering a new market or launching a new product.
- Marketing spend is rising, but nobody can say what it is producing.
- Several agencies or freelancers each run one channel, with no shared plan.
- The team is busy but cannot agree on priorities.
What the finished strategy contains
- Audience and competitor research, with a positioning point of view
- A messaging framework and content pillars
- Channel mix and budget allocation model
- A 12-month campaign and content roadmap
- Measurement framework, KPI definitions and reporting structure
What we need from you
Time with the people who own the numbers — usually the commercial and marketing leads — for a small number of workshops, and access to what already exists: analytics, ad accounts, social channels and past campaign results. The audit of current performance is the foundation for everything that follows.
How long it takes
Typically four to six weeks from kick-off to handover, depending on how many markets and product lines are in scope, and how quickly workshops can be scheduled.
Built to be handed over
A strategy that only works while the agency holds it is not much of a strategy. Everything is documented so your team can run it, brief against it and argue with it. You can ask us to run all of it, part of it, or none.
